Wedding DJ in Columbia, SC

The DJ and MC who keeps your reception moving, reads the room, and makes the night feel like yours, not a template.

Your reception comes down to two things: the music and the person on the mic. A great playlist falls flat if the announcements are clumsy and the timeline slips. We handle both, so your grand entrance lands, your toasts go off without dead air, and the dance floor fills and stays full.

Four Dogs Entertainment is based in Lexington and works weddings all over Columbia and the Midlands. You will work with the same host from your first call to your last song, not a name you have never met who shows up the day of.

What's included

  • Ceremony audio and wireless mics for vows
  • Cocktail hour and dinner playlists
  • MC for entrances, toasts, and the timeline
  • Reception DJ and dance lighting
  • Your must-play and do-not-play lists
  • Coordination with your photographer and venue
  • Early arrival, setup, and sound check
  • Backup speakers, mics, and a second source

How we keep the dance floor full

A packed floor is not luck. We read the crowd, mix to the room you actually have, and never clear the floor with a song nobody asked for. You give us the songs that matter to you and the ones to avoid, and we steer the rest in real time based on who is up and who is sitting.

The fear we hear most: a DJ who talks too much, plays the wrong crowd's music, and lets the energy die after dinner. The fix is an MC who knows when to talk and when to disappear, and that is the whole job.

Common questions

How far in advance should we book a wedding DJ?

Most couples book 6 to 12 months out, especially for spring and fall Saturdays in the Midlands. If your date is close, ask anyway. We sometimes have openings and will tell you straight if we don't.

Do you MC and make announcements, or just play music?

Both. We run the mic for the grand entrance, toasts, first dance, cake, bouquet, and last call, and we coordinate with your photographer and venue so the timeline actually holds. A wedding lives or dies on the announcements, not just the playlist.

Can we pick the songs and give you a do-not-play list?

Yes. You give us your must-plays and your do-not-play list, and we read the room for the rest. The do-not-play list matters as much as the requests.

Do you have backup equipment?

Yes. We bring backup speakers, mics, and a second source so one failure never stops your reception. We also arrive early to set up and sound-check before guests show up.

What areas do you cover?

Columbia and the wider Midlands, including Lexington, Irmo, Chapin, West Columbia, Cayce, and surrounding towns. If your venue is a bit outside that, just ask.

How much does a wedding DJ cost?

It depends on hours, location, and whether you want extras like uplighting or ceremony audio, so we give a custom quote. Send your date and venue through the form and we will get you a number quickly.
